Np!! That guy was a total tool. Ugh. I'm glad everyone else flamed him too. Hope he's just a random troll and not an actual NURSE.

I am a new grad and got my license on June 28th. I have been working for 3 months now and things are going pretty well. But, all the paperwork, lol.............will I ever learn to "putting it all together",lol? Charting isn't a big issue, but it's all the other stuff such as, writing in new orders, reporting labs, consults, falls, patients family etc........alittle overwhelmed lastnight at work and eneded up being there about an hr and half after my shift. I'm not that only one, and some of the other nurses said, "some days are like that".......
I am wondering if most LTC has PT/OT and the treatments that come back with patients who go to consults come back to the nurse and then the nurse has to report the request/recommendations etc.......to the patients MD(at facility)? I don't understand why each cannot report such requests to the assigned doctor. We have to call the doctor and say, "PT just saw so and so and want's to do so and so, is it alright with you"? or "Mr. Smith just came back for cardiologist and they want to change med from this to that"? Why can't that be done by each speciality or is this how it is at LTC? Just wondering as some of it would cut down on paperwork and time that we could be giving to our patients. I guess that school never prepared us for all the paperwork, lol.......now I can see why so many nurses complain about this as there is alot.

Yeah, the paperwork SUCKS. And each time you change facilities/units, you get to learn a WHOLE NEW SET of paperwork!!!

Eventually, you get the gist of it and get pretty fast at the paperwork stuff. It takes time, though.
