Corrections/agency or Med Surg/staff?

  1. 0 Does working corrections make it difficult to get back into the hospital later? I'm considering working corrections as an agency nurse (as it pays well/better than hospital staff) in order to pay off debt faster. What do you think?

Personally, I would do the Med/Surg first. After you do Med/Surg for a year or so, you can work for just about any agency or doing travel nursing. The education you get during this year is going to be pretty priceless. But that's just my $0.02.

Totally agree. I know a new grad working in corrections and she really wants to get into med-surg.
