I'd also like to kick the next person that says "OMG I can't believe you don't have a job yet!" straight in the teeth.

The next person that says there's a nursing shortage is going to get shaken by the shoulders. A lot.

Annnnnnnd exhale. That felt good. Now after my mandatory 10 job apps, I'm going to bed with dreams of HR calling me with an interview. I'm not even wishing for dream job offers anymore, I just want someone to talk to me at this point. I've learned to lower my expectations

North Carolina has that same new RN welcome. I also will punch someone who says "ohh you're a nurse now....you can pick any job you want" Why yes I can!! "Hmm which restaurant should I work at??"

The way I see it.....I can either wallow in self pity, self doubt, and get really bitter.....or make light of the situation while calling to get my student loans deferred longer because I can't afford the payments.

I believe it's called laughing through the graveyard. Quite effective

Plus, my life could be SO much worse. I watched that Jaycee Dugard special and felt infinitely better about every single day of my life. Perspective is good for the soul. The job I'm meant to get will find me - it's just gonna take some time.

I still reserve the right to tell people to get bent whenever they observe how recession proof nursing is Glad you guys feel my pain, though!

Don't say that, please!! I've got a year left of nursing school in North Carolina, and I was thinking it was going to be a bit less difficult to get a job then in some other states.
