Banner Fellows March Cohort

I was just accepted into the March Cohort 2010, for Banner Fellows. Anyone else starting this cohort? I can't wait to get started!!! :wink2: Also, if there is anyone else in the program right now- Can you give us any advice on what to expect. How many days of class and clinicals? Just wondering, I am personally ready to eat, breathe and live nursing, LOL!

How much Anatomy and Physiology

At Estrella MCC's NSG program , how much A&P do you have to recall off the top of your head on a daily basis?
I got an A in both A&P's but I don't remember most of it:eek: AM I totally SOL? Can you give me any tips on what sections I should brush up on before I begin? ex...muscles, bones, cells etc

Hi everyone!
I just moved to Glendale and hit up Estrella CC right away. I was advised to consider the Banner program which sounds AWESOME!!

Now, I have to say that maybe I didn't get all the info but I think the cutoff is July for Banner applicants...is this correct?
How soon do I need to take my NET or TEAS test?
Which leads me to my next question...after reading on here I see that they may do away with the NET, have they come to a decision?
Do any of you know what that is?
DO I go bananas and study both?
When would be the absolute latest I can test to be considered for the program before the cut off?

I would have asked all these questions to the adviser but I didn't know them until after getting on here , lol

I am ready to begin Summer semester but I am not sure if there is a class starting then< when would be the next class?

Any info on the testing would be great! I know there are already threads which I am in the process of reading but just in case no one has asked this one, how long do you feel is sufficient for studying for the NET or TEAS?
Where I moved here from they didn't ask you to take these tests so it is all new to me.

I apologize for all my many questions but I figure, might as well get em' all out there and see who has some answers :)

PVCC/JCL Spring 2010 Priority Placement Acceptance

Is anyone else out there waiting to find out if they've been accepted into the priority placement program through Paradise Valley Community College and John C Lincoln hospital? The program administrator said she would notify everyone by Dec 1st, but I'm not sure if she'll send out an email or letter. Any ideas or information out there? Maybe I'm just feeling overly anxious...:eek:

Does anyone have some inside info on the ABSN for the U of AZ - Tucson?

Hi, all

I'm looking at applying to the U of AZ - Tucson for their ABSN. I've been following that program since their last application cycle. I know they made some changes to their program like having some sponsorships in Yuma and offering a self-pay option.

Last year they held a meet & greet with the hospitals the first Thurs. in Dec. They sent notification about this at the end of Oct. last year. I've called the school and even some of the sponsor hospitals to see if there's going to be anything like this for this application cycle and have heard nothing.

Does anyone have "inside" info on what is going to for this application cycle? Has anyone gone to their ABSN program info sessions? I live out of state so I was unable to go this year.

Apollo college nursing program

Ok so I have been considering Apollo nursing program for a while now. My "plan" is to go here for an associates degree then get my BSN later on. I have a 1 year old son so I am wondering if anyone that attended Apollo could explain what the daily schedule was like. Also, what kind of things do they do at their clinicals? Help would be appreciated. :wink2:

Pima CC Financial Aid Stress

Hey there everyone! Im so beyond frustrated right now with my financial aid! I applied for the Pell Grant via FAFSA last week and have been on pins and needles since. I got back an SAR of 858 on Thursday and called my school on Friday and they said they havent recieved it yet. I was told to wait until Monday and here I am. I have recieved these messages on MyPima throughout the day:

A Regular student is one who has a high school diploma or GED, or is beyond the age of compulsory attendance and has passed the ability to benefit test at Pima Community College. Im a regular student and in a Liberal Arts Program while I am waiting to get into the nursing program. Also, FAFSA said I have no requirements, thats where the frustration lies. I've called three times (everytime a new message pops) and am told to wait it out until the end of the week...but it is soooo hard when I am seeing all these reasons Im "ineligible" before then. I need the aid so I can finish the rest of my co-reqs while I am waiting to start nursing school in August, I just cannot pay for it on my own. Has anyone from Pima had this problem, or any other program for that matter!? Maybe I'm just a little high strung :spin:

Just wondering if there are any LPNs that have applied for advanced placement and are currently waiting. How long is/was your wait? Did you do the HESI-PN and what did you do to study and prepare for that test? What block did you place into?

Hi everyone -

I am taking CHM130 through Rio right now. It isn't too bad...I am at the end of week 3 with a 91 in the Lab and a 98 in the Lecture, but I am worried about the BIO classes.

Within the MCCD, what schools offer the pre-reqs online and can anyone suggest which schools have the better programs?

Pregnancy & Nursing School

Hi everyone, I could really use some advice. I am working on my pre-reqs with three more to go to submit my application for the MCC nursing program. I got married in September and we really want to get pregnant within the next year. If we do get pregnant and I do get accepted into the program how realistic is it to complete either pregnant or with a newborn? Or should I just wait until we have the kids and they are older to start nursing school? Or should I become a CNA next semester and work for a couple years while pregnant and kids are little and then go to nursing school? What would you do?

Currently I am a SAHM with 5 & 8 year olds. Thankfully my husband is a nurse and is very supportive of me going back to school but he said the women in his class who got pregnant or had very young children struggled or even dropped out of his class. Has anyone done it or are you currently succeeding in a similar situation?

Apollo College RN Program

Has anyone attended apollo's rn program? What is the schedule like? I recently read that apollo was bought out by devry and apollo's credits will be eligible for chamberlin's bsn program? Has anyone heard this?
I would love someone feedback.
