I was just wondering if anybody could tell me if you have to already be in nursing school (in clinicals) or can you get a job as a nurse assistant before? I remember a nurse recruiter telling me that I could get a job at the hospital as soon as I got accepted into nursing school, but at a nursing school open house they had said something about getting a CNA certifcate (not until after a few semesters). I am applying after this semester, but I have to apply a year in advance (Spring 2011). I have taken a phlebotomy certification course but experience is pretty much required and job postings that I have seen are looking for typical 9-5 work. I'm just trying to figure out how people work through nursing school, as this is what I need to do.
Thanks!:spin:

I have the ATI study guide and studied that. I went to take the on-line practice exam and score very well on all parts but science 33% !!! The concentration was life science and some earth science. Does anyone have any ideas where to go for some general science help for this test...

This one section can cost me the slot in the upcoming RN program. So frustrating.

I appreciate any help.

My instructor promised she'd have our final grades in this morning, but here it is 1:37pm & no grade! Anyway, up until now, I've had a 4.0, but I'm afraid I'm going to wind up with a C in this class. Has anyone actually been accepted to a nursing program with a C in A&PII?

i am a single mother of 3. I was wondering if there are any tips of how I can make it easier on myself. What area should I think about. I am 35 years old. Have been personal care provider and had cna 3 times. I had to leave an abusive relationship in order to fulfill my dreams and protect my children. Now I am in a good community, etc. I am now returning to the workforce and school. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am taking A&P II in the spring and wanted to apply to the EAYL program. But now I am thinking I can't.

My first plan was to get into LPN school and bridge over. But after doing the math - 1 year program, 1 year work plus time to finish pre-req's and an additional 42 hrs. if accepted into the bridge option program. (Which still is an AS degree, I think) That's more than 3 years!!!

So that leaves me where I am today- working on my pre-req's (I could finish those within the year.) I am one of those 50-ish students so time is a factor but I do have a BA and AS degree. I think an accelerated BSN program is more suitable (like JU) and it's 15 months. I'm not being too over optimistic am I :spin: ??? (of course I'll have to do well in my pre-req's)

Would appreciate any advise/input from this knowledgeble board!!!

I've been reviewing math problems, and I'm stuck on a particular type of question. I know someone answered this question in the past few months but I can't seem to find the post anymore! Any help would be greatly appreciated--I'm feeling pretty dumb since I passed calculus but can't remember how to set up this problem!

If Sam can do a job in 4 days that takes Lisa 6 days and Tom 2 days, how long would the job take if Sam, Lisa and Tom worked together to complete it?

Please help me be one of the few who get an interview!

What does a typical week's schedule look like? I will be a mother of 3 when I (hopefully) start the program Fall 2010, and I will be commuting 45+ min downtown for classes/clinicals. I was wondering if they have it where we can take classes/clinicals on like MWF or something, so I wouldn't have to trek down there every daｙ．

Now to wait 3 years.
I just logged int the GRCC website and Now I am officially signed up for the ADN program! They kept mixing up my papers and stuff so it took awhile. If they would have done this a month ago I could have signed up for some pre reqs fot this winter because nursing students can sign up 30 days earlier. As it is all the time slots I needed filled up before general registration even opened. but that is OK because I can take care of that in the next 3 years easy!
:dance::dance:

Does anyone have experience with the GRCC waitlist? (Grand Rapids Community College)
Is it really that long?
I guess it used to be longer, but they added more classes a few years ago to make it better.
