My friend who studies PCAT purchased magic notes from Dr. Collins in PCAT-destroyer website, which helped her boosting her score by 40%. Is there something or similiar of that for HESI exit exam?

Any comments on purchasing Hurst. Took the Kaplan review and used their access to questions, but have taken the RN exam now twice. Dont really know the results of my last test yet, but I am really nervous - got the dreaded 265 AGAIN. Anyways, I am looking at new ways to study again. Thinking about purchasing the prioritizing, delegation book and possibily hurst. But $300 is alot after I have spent $500 for Kaplan and two times to take the exam. I have the saunders comprehensive, but might look at Q&A saunders.

Any infor or advice would be greatly appreciated. Katie

PS. What suggestions would any of you say I should study more. Both tests were totally different. New drugs that I have never seen, an prioritizing with at least 2/3 patients in one answer. Oh and didnt look at parathyroid gland and guess what. you got it - many questions.

I'am a new LPN grad who is preparing to take the NCLEX exam soon. I am sooooooo!!!!!!! stressed b/c of this test. One of my classmates who I study with during nursing school and for the NCLEX took her test yesterday and she told me that the test made her feel as if she had never went to nursing school. "O" and by the way she was a straight "A" student in nursing school and she has years of experince in the nursing field. I on the other hand did OK in nursing school "B" and "C" student and I study very hard just to get thoses grades. However I have been studing for NCLEX since the end of AUG and I still feel like I am not ready. I have sevral books for the NCLEX but I am not sure they are the right one's. My friend and I study from the same books and she stated that even with these books she did not feel prepared for the exam after yesterday. Ater hearing this info I have become more stressed, she stated that their were alot of med questions and many were meds that she had never seen before. Pls do you any suggestions on any books that are ture to the NCLEX exam and how should I study for this exam. I been told by everyone just do questions, questions, but I am not sure if that is enough. PLS HELP STRESSED OUT:yawn:this is how I feel LOL!!!!!!!!!

Help with passing nclex RN boards

Help anyone. I have just recently graduated in May with an AS degree in nursing, so I am now an RN...

Help anyone. I have just recently graduated in May with an AS degree in nursing, so I am now an RN finally at age 50. I have taken boards once in July and got the entire 265 questions and did not pass. I wasn't devastated just a little disappointed, because I knew I had studied 110% and gave it my very best. And the worst thing to happen is I would just have to take it again. Well after a fablulous trip to Hawaii and time to settle down, I began studying again to take boards today. Again studying and doing everything I knew that would help me pass. Unfortunately I received the 265 questions again, only this time I am heartbroken and totally stressed. It is so hard to sit there in front of that computer and answer questions for 4 hours. After a while everything seems to just mush together. I found myself saying OMG, not again, but would then bring myself back to the test. I do not know the results yet, as I keep reading the pamphlet that says the amount of questions doesn't mean pass or fail. I am trying to be positive, I currently work at a hospital on the med/surge floor as an LPN and have been since before graduation. I love my job, I am a very good nurse and am accepted by my peers. However, the thought of having to take nclex again is like I'd rather cut my leg off, but I know I will do it, if need be cause I set out 3 1/2 years ago to be a registered nurse. My question to anyone of you fabulous nurses out there, what else can I do, what else can I study or what other study guides can I buy. I paid to go to the Kaplan prep test and have all the questions readily available, at which I used alot but I still dont have my license. I know I might be stressing with no need, since I wont know the results until Saturday morning. But passing nclex boards is the goal I so desperately want to complete. Any suggestions, I would be so grateful. Katie

So I just registered a few hours ago and I will probably get my ATT soon. And since it's my first time, I understand that I HAVE TO TAKE IT WITHIN 30 DAYS. WELL CRAP!!! I DON'T THINK I'M READY!!! I'M LIKE 50% READY.

I was going to take it this month actually but I had so much going on lately I haven't been studying consistently. But I really really regret it. I also then thought well maybe I should take it next year. But I heard that they will probably add some new things by then. So for now I'm waiting for my ATT. But I'm already certain I am going ...well have to...take in within or in 30 days!!!

My question is...do you think that that is enough time? I mean I've been studying but very very inconsistently. I try to do at least 100 questions a day and read the rationales after...and even take some notes here and there.

Do you guys think if I just continue to do 100-150 questions everyday until my test date I will be fine? Crap...I feel like I should've not registered yet... argh. Is it possible?!?!

I need some advice people!!!:sniff:

Finally, I'm a USRN!

I took the exam last Monday 8AM with confidence but came out like a 5-year-old crying with a bruised knee. I had 75 questions and that was my 2nd and last attempt. I did the trick when I got home and got the good pop-up. I purchased the quick results today and I officially PASSED! Whew! What a relief! I felt really scared since after I did the trick, hubby called everybody and told them that I took the test and passed. While reading the PVT thread yesterday, I got worried. What if, the result tomorrow would be different? I could probably hang myself because of embarassment. But, yehey! I passed!:anpom:

When I ended at 75, I felt really frustrated. On my 1st attempt, I had the same number of questions and failed. And trust me, the feeling of failing definitely sucks. And I don't wanna go thru it again. It was depressing and I felt useless. Useless in the sense that I can't work as a nurse and there is no job that I can think of doing aside giving nursing care. I just recently moved here in the US last Feb and took the NCLEX the next month. With a month of preparation, adjusting to the weather and planning my wedding, I knew I was set up for disaster on my exam. But I still felt confident since I passed my local boards on my first try. I didn't know that passing the NCLEX is not measured from that. The NCLEX is tough. It's unexpected and would definitely surprise you. But it is a test and like any other tests, we can pass it. Maybe not on your first try, 2nd or till the 10th but you will. You will pass. Have that confidence in you and stay positive. never let the negativity get into you or else you'll be beaten up.

I wanna thank you all of you for the encouraging words you had given, all the advises and tips and all the comfort you had provided each and everyone here. May God bless you and your nursing career!

For those who didn't make it on their first try, just hang in there. Your time will come. Never give up and keep on fighting. Allow time for yourself to grieve and be depressed. It's normal. After the process, formulate your study plan and get back to studying. You will be a nurse! You will attain your goal and that is to kick a** in the NCLEX! Good Luck! =D
I was so terrified to take it again and once i was sitting down i felt like here it goes again all the pain of not passing was in my face once again. The computer stopped at 101 and i did not know what to think. Did I do well or did i fail again? Once i got home I tried the person vue trick and i got the good pop up. Then i checkd again this morning and it was still there. Like everyone knows CA dosnt have quick results so does the trick apply for CA too? I also check the BON website but my name wasnt there. So i am so confused and the trick hasnt lessen the pain of still having to wait. So anyone have any thoughts on this? I just pray i pass..i dont want to do this all over again..

Hi guys this is the first time for me to post something here.:spin:

So this is my story, i just took the nlex exam last september here in Oregon and failed it. it was really sad. i used up all the questions in the exam. and i was so sure that i failed coz i didnt know how to prioritize and delegate. and after 2 days i got my rezult!! failed.... after that day i borrowed kaplan from the lib and studied it, bought ncsbn, and kaplan qbank. my average score in kaplan was 62. im sooo nervous coz im gonna take it again this thursday!!!:crying2: I also bought petersons. which i think is good too. do you think ill pass the nlex with my average score of 62? my scores in kaplan were like 55 percent to 77 percent. and a lot of them were 60s. Im really nervous. im hoping some of you have the same experience as mine. i need some enlightenment. thankyou!!:redbeathe:D:crying2: (mixed emotions)

PS, this site is so awesome!! all the people here are just soooo nice!
