Check out Rio Salado:

http://www.riosalado.edu/Pages/default.aspx

It's a college based in the Phoenix metro. It's an accredited community college that has been doing online classes for years. Yes, there are labs included in these classes! A 4 cr. class will run you about $800 - not counting books. The U of MN proctors my exams. There are 2 - midterm & final. Multiple choice - 80 questions and 4 essays. The essays are fine since they are taken from a pool of questions that are shown to you each chapter (around 4 per chapter) so you can prep for them.

I've taken Bio 205 (Micro), Bio 201 (A&P1), and I'm currently taking Bio 202 (A&P2).

I'm on-call for work so these classes are flexible for me and work with my schedule.

I was interested in Regions Critical Care Immersion Program, and I was wondering if anyone worked there, if they had any idea how many people usually get hired into this program? Is it usually internal applicants? I am a new grad very interested in critical care and I think this is the only program I have heard of in the area hiring straight into critical care.

Mankato will not be admitting for Fall 2010 for ABSN:

Due to budgetary constraints, the School of Nursing has decided that students will not be admitted to the Accelerated Nursing Program in Fall 2010. The School of Nursing hopes to admit students in Fall 2011, but that decision will depend upon the state of the budget at that time. We know that this action is disappointing to many of you who are interested in our program. We will continue to admit students to the Basic Nursing Program in both Fall and Spring semesters. So application to that program could certainly be an option if you are interested. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Dr. Julia Hebenstreit, Accelerated Nursing Program Coordinator at julia.hebenstreit@mnsu.edu.

I am looking to relocate in Cook County, Mn. We presently live in the deep South. My husband will be going there for his job. Does anyone know of job opportunities on the Grand Portage Indian Reservation? I just completed my MSN for teaching, but there are no schools in that area. Will appreciate any responses. And it gets HOW COLD there?!!!!!! I'm thinking I'm going to freeze!

Okay all you currently employed RNs- give me the straight scoop on jobs
Currently I'm set to graduate in May from St Kate's with and ADN in nursing- I also have a BA in women's studies.
I've racked up so much debt I'm extremely anxious to just get a job, ANY job next summer and just get going!
Of course I would love a hospital job, but really I just want real experience so I'll got to LTC, WHATEVER....

So what is the current insiders view of job availaibility? Am I being foolishly optimistic to think there may be lots more job openings for new grads by next spring?????

Anyone in this program or apllying to it? I'm just starting out with prereqs in January, it'll take me awhile to get through them as I have no science background to speak of. I aready have a master's degree, so the idea of a direct entry master's degree appeals to me, and this one seems a bit less intense than the U. I'd love any insights into the school or degree. Also, reccomendations for other programs to apply to? I'm willing to apply for ADN deggrees as I know competition is fierce, but I'd prefer a Master's or accelerated BSN. I have to stay in the metro area.
