Hello! I had a few questions about GBCN for anyone who has or is going there. Do they mostly take transfer students? I am completing my BS in Biology first and was wondering if those credits will still transfer if they are already applied to a previous Bachelor's degree.
Also, how is the cost? I am strained financially and was wondering if anyone had problems getting financial aid, etc.

I am really on the fence between GBCN and GSU, I appreciate any help! :)

Hey, I was wondering how much a nurse with about 6 months experience would be looking at for pay at Grady Memorial. From what I can find online GA RN's make about $21-22 to start. Is this the case? Also, I asked about a year ago... Are nurses having as hard a time getting jobs at Grady as they did a year ago and how is the new management. I have heard both neg's and pos's about Grady and would really love to work there and welcome a challenge. I live in Alaska now and am wondering how there relocation program works. Any info on Grady would be awesome. Thanks ahead of time. meg

I remember checking out the Atlanta area for jobs a couple months back, and there wasn't much out there, especially for new grads. I just now looked at Wellstar and Northside websites, and they've each got over 100 RN jobs posted. A lot of the positions say experience preferred, but I'm assuming that doesn't mean necessary. So, what happened and are new grads still having problems finding jobs? I don't graduate until 2011, but I used to live in Kennesaw and would love to return to Atlanta once I'm an RN. Thanks!

Hello I am currently a sophomore in college and am very interested in the CNL program at MCG. I am a little confused though about what exactly it is. I know I would get my 4 year degree in something other than nursing, then apply for the 2yr program. I am questioning what would happen after I graduate from the CNL program..would I just be able to take my exam to be an RN and be an RN just like I would if I got my BSN?

What is a good enough TEAS score?

I'm applying to NGCSU and my Adjusted score is a 84.7 on my first attempt, I thought pretty good...

I'm applying to NGCSU and my Adjusted score is a 84.7 on my first attempt, I thought pretty good for someone who's been out of college since 1992. But is that really good enough? I'm new at this so bear with me.

I got a 95 on Reading, 87 on Math, 73 on Science and 86 on English. After taking the test I could probably pull up the science part by brushing up on chemistry, and probably the math a bit as there were a couple of problems that threw me, but I could have done if I had known the problem type ahead of time, and now I do.

Is this good enough or should I try to re-take it in December? Do they frown on taking it twice to improve your grade just a few points?

I have a bachelors from 1992. My overall GPA was 3.4, but in the core classes they will be looking at I think I have a 3.2. I still need to take A&P, but they don't require you take that before you apply at NGCSU.

I know it's super competitive, but I have no idea what they actually base the critera on for acceptance. Since I'm getting older, waiting is becoming a harder option for me.

I've been wanting to do this for a few years, but I was trying to wait for my twins to get old enough, they are in 2nd grade this year.

Also, after you apply, do they interview you or have you do an essay, or is soley based on grades and TEAS alone?

I'm taking A&P and another math class in January, regardless. If I don't get in I will need other alternatives. I really want to get in there because the Lanier extension campus is only a few miles from my home, so that is definately my first choice, aside from it being a good school.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
