Apollo college nursing program

Ok so I have been considering Apollo nursing program for a while now. My "plan" is to go here for an associates degree then get my BSN later on. I have a 1 year old son so I am wondering if anyone that attended Apollo could explain what the daily schedule was like. Also, what kind of things do they do at their clinicals? Help would be appreciated. :wink2:

Travel nursing in Phoenix

Hi All.
I am looking to do a travel assignment in Phoenix, particularly the East Valley. I was wondering if anyone is there on assignment now and can make any recommendations about agencies and/or hospitals that they like or think I should avoid. I am an experienced ER nurse with travel and per diem experience. I am looking to work in a hospital setting.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hello all!, Im looking for work as a CNA. But before I look any further I'd like to see what some of you experienced CNA 's have found to be good paying jobs to start out @? hospitals? retiremnt homes? burn unit? ICU? I did clinicals at Coranado health center :yawn:(PHX) but I'm looking for something near Surprise.

Does Pima Medical Institute have a LPN to RN program?

Hello,

Trying to look into the PMI program. I noticed the $40,000 tuition price for the RN program; is this the same price if you are already an LPN? I have been trying to do a research on this but only find the 18 month RN program.

What is the class schedule like? Is it Monday-Friday 9-5?

Any info would be much appreciated.

I can't get much information from anyone from PMI unless we go to some kind of seminar.

I recently completed a 3-week training class @ LAM & ASSOCIATES the school really gets you moving towards your next step quickly and efficiently @ LAM the classes are small and easy to learn. The school is located
@ 7th st. and Dunlap. The fees and tuition are cheap and they seem to have a good connection with the az state board proctors (examiners) because of their quick availability to get you "in" to take the state board exam. I hope you recieved some helpful pointers in your search for a great CNA training school.:yeah:

Jobs for New Grads

I have read so many posts about new nurses not finding jobs, or at the very least not finding the ones they had hoped for. It's this way, pretty much, all over right now. I know it's very disheartening, to wait, finally get in, pass, and then this huge wall before you. Don't give up, hang in there, keep yourself fresh in the knowledge you have gained and just keep trying. The economy is horrible. So many, including my husband, have lost jobs, or taken huge pay cuts. My husband lost his, at age 61. He found another, but at way, oh my, way less wage. Of course our bills did not go down along with the wages. In fact, taxes went up this year, even though our house value dropped. Not a fair world at all. I haven't worked since starting school. We don't make enough to really live on. Robbing Paul to pay Peter these days, but if I take a low paying job, then I don't qualify for a grant, and without that, no school for me. We were the upper middle class and have slide down to; well, don't know what we are now. Holding on as hard as possible. New Grads of all studies are finding it hard to find work. My parents were young adults during the Depression, so I grew up hearing tales. We are not far from that in my opinon. Things will get better eventually, nothing stays the same, kind of like the law of gravity. Cut costs, turn off what you can, plant a garden and keep applying for any type of nursing job; schools, plants, doc offices, anyplace that would employ a nurse. And some of you, young enough, don't forget the military service. It's not high pay, but it is job security. I did 3 years and if I wasn't too old, I would go though school and sign up again. Nice to go back as an officer. Keep hope going, hunker down and ride though the storm as best you can, things will get better in time.

Mesa uniform color

Does anyone know what color uniforms are required for Mesa Community College? Can you have a cardigan any color or do you have to have a certain color, type etc.? Trying to get as much as I can before all the rest hits. Alot of stuff to buy that is not included in tutition. Also, what is an I-clicker? Never heard of that. Thanks for any help.:loveya:

I am 2weeks away from my Block 4 final and need to start preparing for the NCLEX. Unfortunately I cannot afford to pay for a prep class or books at this time :cry:. Is there anyone willing to donate books to me? I am specifically interested in Saunder's NCLEX RN Q&A Book with CD, but am thankful for anything I can get. Also, if anyone has Pharmacology Flash cards available too?? Thank you in advance I appreciate it.

AZ CNA reciprocity question

I moved to AZ in August from Colorado. While I'm waiting to get my 1-yr residency so I can apply for the BNFP, I'd like to get my CNA and complete some courses for my BSN. I looked into the CNA programs (MCC, specifically) here and they meet once a week for 1 semester. I would really like to get my certification before that so I can start working. I am still trying to sell my house in CO and there is a CNA program there (at the community college) that lasts 6 weeks and doesn't require all the hoops to jump through that MCC does.

If I take the CNA program in CO, does anyone know if it would be better to take the certification exam there or in AZ? I read somewhere (here?) that AZ will make you retake the program in AZ if you are not yet certified. If this is true, could I get certified in CO, even though it is not my state of residency, and then get reciprocity in AZ?

After giving up searching in Nevada I applied to the hospital and was interviewed and hired on the spot. In my shock of finally getting a nursing job I forgot to ask how much I would be making any hour, and can't get my offer letter until my temporary license clears for Arizona. If anybody can give me a good estimate, any any tips for living in the bullhead city region I would welcome it!
