I've been there before and the hospital is such a great experience. Im worried about the cna position because they usually have patient care techs. Does anyone have any input on this hospital. I know that the nurse managers and employees are wonderful people. I am not so sure if they have education tuition reimbursement....
Any input thanks

Do I have a chance? Please help.. about UK NMC application

I hope you can give me an idea whether I will pursue applying for NMC registration.

I finished my BS Nursing degree in the Philippines in 1995 after 4 years in college. But after graduating from school, I managed to get a job in a an electronic company. It was very hard to find a nursing job that time. Although I havent lost interest in my degree, time passed me by and I stayed with the same job for almost 13 years or so.. it paid the bills.

In May 2010, I tried applying for a job in the hospital after being laid off work. Luckily I got the job as a ward nurse and now I am working in a Recovery room for almost a year which gave me more than 2 years experience in nursing.

My sister now lives in the UK and advised me to apply for NMC registration. She will shoulder all expenses if I can pass it.

My question is: with a big gap in my work experience, do i have a chance to get registered or the gap will go against my application?

Any help is very much appreciated.

In my state, the only thing that is required for admittance into nursing school is of course GPA, ACT scores, and an essay. They look at other things too such as volunteer work and community service. The MINIMUM ACT score that is required to apply is a 21. That is exactly what I have. A 21. I took it twice in high school and I received a 21 both times. I'm a sophmore in college now. Do you all think I should take the ACT again to see if I can get a higher score? What if I get a lower score? I mean I want my ACT score among other things to be above the bare minimum. I do not want anything to affect my chances of getting in.

Hello all, I am currently studying for the TEAS in order to start the LVN program at SJVC here in Visalia Ca. I am very curious as to how easy it is to get into this program? My advisor has told me they only pick 30 students out of about 70 applicants. I am a little stressed about this. I also would like to know if there is anyone out there that has completed the program and has any advice?

I love my little 4 1/2 pound, 10 year old dog. For this reason, she is my avatar picture this week. Last night as she fell asleep with her tongue sticking out, it made me think that these little furballs bring us joy and happiness. Yeah, they can be a pain too sometimes. (If they didn't poop, pee, or bark they would be PERFECT......and a stuffed animal) Don't they say pets lengthen our lives or something like that? So as usual, I am curious. Do you have a pet you love? And what do they do that makes you smile. Sometimes I will ask my dog, Baby, "Where's your tummy?" And she instantly knows she is about to get a tummy rub. Sometimes she will straighten her little skinny legs straight out and they shake for a second. It reminds me of a ballerina and I call it twinkle toes. Ok, I spilled my guts. Now it's your turn..
