I don't want to give up but I just took my second test..1st test H&S failed..and failed today Transition too. I paid for the practice test & study from studygroup101. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.. I felt like I passed the test but was greeted with a D . Any advice will be greatful & do you think I should try to retake right away? How many times can I fail test?

I failed Health Safety too.. Keep going! It's the only way you'll succeed! After I failed Health Safety (which was only like 3 wks ago) I was in a slump for about a week. The excelsior staff was really nice about it and even offered a phone consultation on I guess study tips.. I held off on it though. What I did was put Health SAfety on hold and immediately signed up for another class (Rep health), studied for it for a few weeks, took the test and passed! You have to kind of push the fails out of your head so you can regroup. I'd suggest doing the same thing. Sign up for a completely different test so that initial anxiety and reminder that you failed isn't there. Take one that you think you'd enjoy the most. I signed up for Rep Health after failing Health Safety because I thought I'd relate to the info the best right now since I'm pregnant (due in 2 days!!).. Now I'm studying for another test (Health Differences) and I plan to leave that ole failed test for the end. After getting a few passes you'll have your confidence boosted and be ready to face those monsters again! Keep going! You're NOT a failure!! *hug*

sondon, you might need more than notes and practice exams. I'd recommend expanding your studies to include some textbooks. EC recommends textbooks to correspond with their exams in the free exam content guides -- might be worth a little investment to get a little more depth in the areas where you didn't do as well. I got better grades on my EC exams when I invested in a fundamentals book back when I was testing.

You're not the first to fail these exams, and you won't be the last! Doesn't reflect on your life achievements at all; remember, this is only a test. You are choosing the difficult path of self-study, no spoon-feeding ... you just need to find a way to study that works best for you. Good luck!!

Thank you all for the support!! The one thing that I didn't do was go through the content guide as both you Lunahrn and missnurse01 suggested but I will throughly go through that from now on!

Sorry you didn't pass, but if you were using SG101 their instructions tell you to go by the content guide so you know what all the areas cover. Just shake it off and go on - I think the first exam is the hardest cause you don't know what to expect! Now you do - you'll do better on the next one

In my opinion those were the two hardest tests !! I agree with the other posters that said you should look @ the content guide. Good Luck !!!

Most definitely need the suggested textbooks to study, I don't know if you have them or not but you can 'rent' the suggested textbooks, some you may want to purchase outright because you will need them for more than one exam. good luck read, read and read is the best advice
