Was anyone able to transfer their Excelsior ADN to a North Carolina University

Hi,

I'm considering doing the Excelsior paramedic to RN bridge course. My only concern is whether or not I will be able to transfer an Excelsior ADN to a North Carolina University and receive credits for the nursing classes. I have emailed East Carolina University and the only response I was able to get was "send your transcripts in and we will evaluate them." This is not helpful because I haven't taken the classes at Excelsior yet. I have emailed Western Carolina University and am waiting on a reply. Does anyone have any experience with this?

If your applying to a bsn program they give credit for your RN license, not on the nursing courses you've taken. They may require additional pre-req courses like anp and micro with a lab though.

Thank you so much! That was exactly what I needed to know. I have completed all of the nursing prerequisites at a brick and mortar community college so those should be able to transfer without issue. Thanks again!

I know someone in NC (NC Girl BSN - About NC Girl BSN) who completed her BSN at an NC school after Excelsior. Like Chris said, most schools give credit for the RN, but may require certain sciences with labs, that kind of thing. If you did your prereqs at a community college, you should be good to go. :)

I'm currently doing excelsior and live in Texas. Texas tech has said once I complete the program I should have no problem completing the rn to bsn program with them and will only have to complete the bachelor level nursing courses. To completed all pre-reqs at a local college and they have no issue with my excelsior nursing courses as long as I am a licensed RN.

I know for a fact that a classmate of mine in NC was accepted to WSSU in NC after completing Excelsior. And I also finished excelsior and then went on to Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk NC for their RN-BSN program. Have no fears, NC loves excelsior college :)

I'm from NC and after EC, I was accepted into WSSU RN-BSN program and they gave me credit for Transition to nursing and I finished the program in 10 months vs 12 month like all the others. Like others have said NC loves EC. I work at Wakemed and my manager was very impressed by EC. I am 1 of 3 EC graduates that work on my unit.
