Would this be a good program for someone with their LPN, but never used the certification for a job. Worked for the city making more. If one has good time management and a good self learner, would this be a good refresher course as well as an extension to my lpn learning? I just want to make sure that if I study hard I would know everything I need to know for my RN. Thanks.

edit: Also I think I read that July '15 there will be no more exams just courses... Is this true?

Whether or not this is a good program for you is a decision only you can make. With that being said, I know LPNs fresh out of school who have continued with EC and done well.

Thanks very much! So basically I just need to apply for all exams I need to take by July? Can I schedule for all 8 months before I take them? If I decide to take them early than I registered for the exam will I be able to change the date and take the exam earlier?

You can only register for four at a time, and you have a certain amount of time in which to take the exam after you register for it - I think it's within 120 days, maybe?

So I you can register for the exam and take it within 120 days or I can schedule the exam for a specific date within 120 days?

Thanks, again you've been a great help!

You can schedule it as soon as you pay for it and it has to be within whatever the specified timeframe is (I think 120, but you should probably download the nursing catalog and read it), but it is scheduled through Pearson VUE. Availability dates for testing will vary by test center.

You're welcome, I am glad you found it helpful. Navigating through the plethora of programs and then having to navigate through your chosen program can be daunting and confusing! I am happy to share.

I agree. Nursing school camaraderie is a myth that starts at orientation, and ends at graduation. In LPN school, attending was like a soap opera. Friendships broken, alliances formed, all for the top seat in nursing class. I applaud different approaches to learning and am happy they have this program.

I agree, Angie! I am glad for the experience of my LPN program because it toughened me up for real world nursing BUT it was a total drama-fest. If I was relegated to reliving that chaos again I don't think that I would be willing to go back to school. I think that this is the best choice for me, but it isn't for everyone.

Thank you so much for this information. Been on the fence about EC. I came here to get more information. From people who have been through it, instead of the people trying to sign me up for their courses.

This information and the threads/comments are invaluable!
Thank you for taking the time to put this together
