Nursing Students Excelsior

I will begin this adventure open minded and eager to learn. I am enrolled for the multicourse option credit by exam. A coworker recommended me to this way due to less expensive route. i have to start with A&P and microbiology since it has been so long since i have taken them. I have my study guide and textbook ready. I have been an LPN for 5 years and am ready to move on out of my current job working in long term care. I would appreciate any positive encouragement and friendly advise along the way. Thank you.

@ ll_palmer...... What two pre-reqs do you need?

Thank -you and you're welcome. Information literacy and written english requirement. From what I can remember, the representative I spoke with said everyone has to take it. When I was in college I was undecided between nursing and social worker. I went through all my transcripts with an advisor there over the phone and she told me if everything checked out that's all I should have to do. However, I won't know for sure until they get all my transcripts. I just finished taking Micro. and A&P over (due to 5 year mark) last week at a community college. My head hurts so bad. Im taking a break from school until January. It's needed. I studied so hard I often asked myself if I was about to throw a clot my head hurt so bad. Too much information. I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to take them both at the same time. From now until I enroll, I'm praying and trying to get as much information as I can about the program. I would like to utilize my time and money wisely by learning all I can prior. I'm going to see about some of those study sites you mentioned as well. Anything else you think of that may be helpful please feel free to share. I appreciate it.

That college writing exam through Excelsior is only $95. You just have to write two essays in MLA format. They give you two hours to write them, I believe, and you will write them in response to a subject given to you, so nothing has to thought up out of thin air. Not a bad exam at all. I made a B and I hate writing, in fact those were the first essays I had written since high school. Info Lit is an 8 week online course but it actually only takes about 4 hours of uninterrupted work to complete. If your transcripts pan out like you're hoping, you should be able to start the nursing theory exams from the get go.

Texting has destroyed my writing abilities as the calculator did my math skills. Thank you so much.

can i download the mico demystified through the excelsior site?

Yes you can. It's an eBook. Just log in to your MyExcelsior account, then go to the top of the page and click on library, then search the library for "Microbiology Demystified". The ISBN number for that book is 9780071446501.
