Question of Excelsior in Florida...

Hello all! I am currently a registered respiratory therapist in the state of FL. I am strongly considering taking classes from Excelsior to get my RN's. I've already sent my transcripts and had my application approved - all I need to do is pay my $1000 fee and register for classes.

BUT, I am hearing conflicting information about whether or not the BON in Florida will allow me to sit for the NCLEX and approve my license since I am not a LPN. Some people have told me that I'd have to get an out of state RN license first, THEN work 2 years outside of the state, THEN apply for a license - others are telling me that the BON overturned that idea and I won't have any problems.

I've called the BON twice and have yet to receive a reply on this matter. I was kind of hoping someone on here would have some more current info on this. If you know of anything, please share! Excelsior tells me that the FL BON won't give me any hassles, but I don't believe them because well, they want me to enroll! lol
