These are my mnemonics for the sim labs for the CPNE. they are longer than most as I wanted more steps included than I generally found in other mnemonics around. hope they help someone.

I am new here... completely new starting my LPN hopefully in sept if I can pass my ati teas test next week and really leaning towards EC for the ADN... but the CPNE posts stories are a bit scary lol. How was your EC experience esp being the fact you can self study or take a class.. thanks in advance!

Not familiar with the classes but I wouldn't recommend excelsior due to the cpne. You have a really long road ahead anyway.

Oh, I am sorry I was under the impression you were an EC graduate, yes I do have a long way ahead of me but I like to be prepared and kinda of know options in advance, I am still looking at different traditional associate programs for an ADN

edit: when I was in there was no class option, it was only exam.

Hahahaha! I love your response reebokHCFR! You are blunt and to the point! I truly appreciate the opportunity EC gave me (LPN-RN by exam etc...) but I am not sure if I will recommend it to others or not. The CPNE was a an overall HORRIBLE experience for me financially, emotionally, and more. I am however, still basking in the glory of actually PASSING the darn thing (2nd time!), so the shinyness has not worn off. Good for you for speaking the truth! I think in a few years I might be as blunt about it as you are.

lol thanks Guys for your honest feedbacks... I guess I still have a longgg time before I even get to that point so I should relax. Just seemed EC would fit my life style and I am good self study as I like to read. But reading so many CPNE stories I am definitely weary... are there any LPN-RN programs you would suggest ? I definitely will not be stopping at LPN level...thanks in advance.

Hi Niks09,

I am an LPN in the EC program and I am doing fine so far. Make sure you read everything about the CPNE, I have talked with Paramedics and LPN's alike who have recently passed the first try by taking the recommended workshops. Also, read alot of negatives. I think everyones experience with this is different and personal to them. I decided not to make my decision based on others failures or bad experiences because there are a lot of positives out there! I think for me personally, I have been through a pretty scary end clinical as a paramedic and it was an autofail if any mistakes were made. The CPNE is not an autofail, you get a second day to redo.

I am only telling you this because I almost dropped out of EC based on some posts I read. Then I looked deeper into more recent posts and recent students, I read about all the nurses who have passed. Yes, it was difficult, but passed none the less.

Keep in mind that EC is expensive at the end with workshops, travel etc. So keep that in mind as you progress. :yes: Good luck with your LPN and no matter where you go, don"t give up!

Thank you so much for this!! since this post I have done a lot of researching and I think this is the way I will be going when it is time. Hopefully I will be working and will be able to pay out of pocket. Luckily the two CPNE sites are close enough to me that travel will not be horrendous. But I am reading allllll I can and watching videos too on youtube every other day just to feel like I am familiarizing myself. I also spoke to other EC grads who r thriving and one who is in it now. I start my LPN program Sept yay! so I will get through that first then EC here I come!
