MICROBIOLOGY

Nursing Students Excelsior

Hey everyone,

I have been preparing for my Micro exam and it is coming up soon. I have used all the suggested material including the practice exams and I am feeling good. I would just like to ask those who have taken it if there is ANY advice you can share as far as what it focuses on. (for example A&P is mostly Physiology based). As you know, it is a lot of self taught info and I want to know how to focus my studies leading up to test day. Thanks in advance and happy studying!

I passed the Micro test a week ago, the questions are all over the place. I was familiar with about 2/3 of it, 1/3 looked like it was for another test entirely. I still pulled a "B".

I agree. I don't recall much of a focus area, this exam is very scattered

Much like the process of studying so I will do just fine! LOL! Thanks anyway guys. This seems to be the general consensus with this one.

Oh my! Well hearing this is making me dread taking this exam even more. Wish you the best Tru-Nurse :)!

Thanks RN2BE. Don't stress it just prepare and follow the content guide. We will do fine!

I took it & passed, I too felt like I was dialed in to get a "A"....got a "B", but it had some odd questions....I think if you pass the pre tests you'll do fine

I used Microbiology Demystified and this video series...

Biology 103: Microbiology Course - Online Video Lessons | Education Portal

Those videos were very good for learning the material and helped me immensely. I went back and forth between the videos and Micro Demystified, I would read a chapter in Demystified and then watch the corresponding videos on EP. I made a B on the exam and never had any sort of Biology course in my entire life up until this micro exam so I was literally starting from scratch.
