I was feeling rushed and pressured bc of the October 1 deadline, so I signed up for the payment plan. Please, anyone with suggestions on study material or any words of encouragement at this point...

Hi KishJW, Relax! Take a deeeeeep breath.... yes, it is a big financial obligation, but one that will pay off many times over! The 'pay as you go' aspect is especially appealing to me, and the payment plan also looks to be a good choice.

Go to Excelsior's website, look at the various exams, and decide which one you will do first... are you done with all your pre-reqs? I only have Micro, and I think I'm going to finish that first. (WISH I had done it before enrolling....) Health Safety and Transitions will likely be my first two Nursing exams.

Good luck to you... we can DO this!!

How do I apply at Excelsior for LPN to RN? Does anyone know if there is a payment plan? I just can't do classroom work , LPN just about drove me crazy , I never really opened a book except to do those dreadful workbooks.

Jess, you have to be really self motivated to do the excelsior program. If you barely opened a book for LPN then I would say save your money and go the traditional route. Not trying to be a debbie downer(or is that donny downer?) but you will be wasting your money if you cannot be disciplined to get going on your own.

I do think excelsior has a payment plan. I think that is just for the admission payment. If you're gonna take classes through excelsior get student loans. If you are just gonna test out then i think you can make payments but not test until its paid in full.

Lol it's ok , I didn't open a book as I didn't need them at all n still passed with flying colors , graduated on Friday, had my letter to test on Monday, tested on Wed had my license on Friday , passed on 85 questions , I've worked in healthcare since the 90s in the ER , so I was thinking of this is more than a publishing company I would try it , it sounds great to be able to test out n be done with it ., it's such a pain to do the work of one and the pay of the other , I can triage I just can't sign the assessment, can't push drugs but can start an IV and hang them , and been in more codes than on can imagine , I'm motivated to be finished

go to excelsior college website and get the nursing catalog download. Everything you need to know is in there and there are payment plans and options. I'm doing the exam only option using study group 101 because I hate to write papers.
