I am just starting the LPN to RN using Chancellors ( I knows its really excelsior ) but I am just wondering if any other LPNs are doing this right now, or if any RNs have done this. Any reviews on Chancellors ( please no reviews on Rue or college network ). Thanks everyone!

so if you buy the guides off ebay do you no longer need to go through chancellors?

You shouldn't go through Chancellor's (Rue, TCN, etc) to begin with. They are a publishing company with no affiliation to Excelsior.

Yep, it would be like buying a used textbook.

There is never a 'need' to go through chancellors, they are jsut a publishing company that sells overpriced studyguides.

I'm looking into doing an online bridge program. So, you are saying not to use a publishing company and to buy study material off eBay. Is that correct? I don't even know where to start.

Have you decided on Excelsior College? In any case, study materials for courses can be purchased through Amazon, Ebay, studygroup101.com...all at a fraction of the cost imposed by publishing companies. Also, look into CLEP (collegeboard.com) for whatever general education courses you can get out of the way prior to making your selection for enrollment.

Your first step is to choose a college or university and call to speak with an admission advisor to find out what the application process entails, send them a copy of your transcripts, and let them tell you what courses you need to complete your degree with them and whether or not they accept any of those courses via the CLEP (test-out) method, and if so, how many would they accept.

This should get you started...

You can get the nursing catalog from excelsior and look through it and it will give you an idea of what exams you need to take and yuor options. Definitely look into study group 101 they make study guides and audio for cheap.

And, of course, if you're a textbook, by-the-book sort of person, Excelsior College has its own bookstore.
