I see a lot of positive threads. I know it's exam based but what about clinicals, where do you do them? At work or do they send you somewhere?

I know of 2 people that took the CPNE in 2 different locations in the country and they both had only 2 people pass out of their groups.

Specializes in M/S, LTC, Corrections, PDN & drug rehab.

How many people were in their group? Two out of how many?

Specializes in Med-Surg, LTC, Psych, Addictions..

Excelsior does NOT want you to fail! They are truly happy when we pass. They're making sure we are safe and competent. If people fail its because of nerves or lack of preparation. I studied diligently, went in without nerves and passed.

I am already having second thoughts on excelsior hearing all these reviews but I paid my money and was considering doing the classes through achieve prep but I just had an interview and just sit down to look at the contract and decided it is not worth the cost. But scared I am to do these classes on my own with excelsior. I wish you luck on your next sitting just don't give up now you are pretty much closer than I am hang in there!!!

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

There are a lot of us around who did EC without third-party companies. There is plenty of networking here and on various Facebook groups, there is a ton of support out there! Best of luck, whatever you choose.
