THANK YOU for compiling all this info for potential students! A very comprehensive list, for sure! It will save the newbies from having to read thousands of posts to get started... any way you can make it a permanent file in this site? I'm sure it will be copied and shared over and over...

  4. I'm all for diversity in learning and alternatives to traditional learning, but you'll miss the comradery of nursing school. And that comradery gets you through some pretty crappy stuff that you've never seen and prepares you for dealing with the stuff we, as nurses have to deal with daily.

Are you kidding? My LPN class was FULL of drama, back-biting, and backstabbing. Not having to deal with that again was a HUGE plus of this program! Didn't have the time or money for brick-and-mortar anyway, so it all worked out. :-)

The people I met while studying for the CPNE are still my friends... CPNE study and survival is a bonding experience! A lot of people don't make the EC journey alone, and I agree - it is nice to go through things like this with others! Allnurses is great for that as well. :-)

With all due respect, in order to go through EC for the RN program, one has to meet certain criteria. One is hours of actual nursing experience. It's not like this school is just testing out paramedics and LPN's that have never hit the floor. A person better have a pretty good understanding of the nursing process to go anywhere in the EC program.
