First of all, i would like to say thanks to adm. for allowing me to become a member of this great forum...
I am a government employed nurse who currently is in need of extra money. That is why i am seeking your advise about starting a side hustle so that i can manage to make more than what i receive on a monthly basis. I joined this forum because there possibly could be many nurses working like me and on the side have either a second job or a side business. So if there is any one who one side works full time on her primary job and on other hand runs or is doing a second job, please provide me your advise on starting a side business and how many side business opportunities are available for a nurse. Thanks

Just remember in today's modern time there is not one but countless in fact opportunities to generate some extra in addition to your salary. The only thing that you need to assure is that you should have the dedication of sticking either to a second job or to a side business. This is even true that unlike time of past where having a side job was very difficult because doctors and nurses hardly wished to do such jobs. But as life style of modern people including nurses become hard to afford, they look for alternative ways to make more. In an age where internet made everything possible for us, it has even thrown tons of opportunities on the table that can even be run from a home. You can now become a health care freelancer, online tutor, e-book publisher etc All has become possible ever since internet moved towards advancement.

Sorry actually i did try to answer your answer in my last comment but unfortunately didn't happen. Anyway let me help you out, first you can very easily run a side business or a second job because we have more powerful tool in our control compared to those who lived before internet. Not only can you start a home based business but also you can probably profitably operate them if you stay dedicated with that business or job. To keep it brief, you have many options such as health blogger(write blogs about healthcare), Youtuber( create health related video and share them on youtube), write for other websites like as online newspaper as freelance content generators etc

There are so many "side" jobs that you can do. If you can dream it, you can do it
I have started a few in the past. I had a footcare nursing business that I grew from 0 clients to 100 clients consistently every month. I also did nurse consulting and delegating. I now am a business coach for nurses. The options are endless. I would love to help you out. I have a free pdf that has a list of 25+ nursing entrepreneur jobs. It is located at Elisha-mcvay.com
Congrats Nurse Elisha for stepping out on Faith to start your business. I also started a side business (non-nursing related) as well. Hopefully our posts will help others take advantage and invest in their own commitment and desires to start a side business

Thank you! I love your prompt: Where would I like to see myself within 3-5 years?
This is something that we all should look at and think upon. Not just dream about it, but take action on it and know that it can be possible for you too. It can be scary, but you have to step out in faith.
When I was working nights in a magnet hospital, I was miserable. I loved the nursing care, but my family life sucked. I was always tired and my schedule was never working with my family. I started thinking "what can I do?" "How can I help?" Then it hit me one night. I saw a patient that had awful feet. Their toenails were an inch thick and 2 inches long. With the skills I had, I could do nothing for him. I asked if there was a podiatrist that could see him and no podiatrist would go to this mans house. I went home in the morning and looked into foot care. I found a training that was happening that weekend and told my husband that I was going to it. I came back from the training and put in my 2 week notice. I started my footcare business 2 weeks later and grew it to seeing over 100 people consistently in less than 6 months. Foot care was not my passion, I did not know how to do it at first, but I was able to create this business and fulfill a need in the community and make money. I did this for 3 years before I sold it.
I share this story because I believe that it is possible to do anything you dream of.
