I currently work as a psych NP and lately I've been thinking seriously about getting certified as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and attempting to pay my bills through offering Mental Health First Aid courses. I've taken the general, one-day MHFA course, not the extended instructor course, and I liked it. I thought it made sense, was easy to break down and follow and I really believe in the practice of teaching mental health first aid to the community like we do CPR. My question is, has anyone here started an instruction/education based nursing business? Where they (their time, their experience, their training) were the primary commodity? Any advice or suggestions for how to proceed or how I should begin? I understand to the first step will be taking the actual instructor course, but what after that? Any resources you could send my way?
