What type of business have you started?

Nurses Entrepreneurs

I am an RN in extended care. We have all been advised that we will be losing our jobs in the next couple of years if not sooner. I've thought of starting my own business but am looking for different ideas. Foot care seems to be the one I see alot of. Anyone else with any ideas?

Pardon stupid question, but what exactly is 'extended care'?

I'm in Canada. It is one of our classifications of facility care. We also have intermediate care. Just means residents are dependant on us for their everyday needs. Can't do for themselves!!!

JB have you heard of Nurse Examiners. Those that do Ins Exams for applicant applying for life of health or Disability Ins.

I am doing that now and building a client base of Ins Agents who call on my services.

I aslo have a network development business where I obtain residuals on purchases of office products through a partnership relationship I have with office Max. For example when my Dentist purchases office products through my business from office max I get compensated for those purchases by office max. I am building a network of business who purchase through me and they get benefits too for being customers of mine.

What is neet is the fact that I have no overhead ( Inventory, shipping, return guantee issues, employees, liability, AR, AP issues ) pretty cool ha.

I have started a school in Bangkok, Thailand teaching a specialized program called "Conversational English for the Healthcare Provider." We are the only school of its type in the country to have approval from the Ministry of Education.

Great Susanne! It sounds like a very rewarding service. Thanks for telling us about it.

I would love to hear any other feedback you may have about your business.

Night ;)
