Sick Care Day Care for kids

Anyone ever heard of a daycare for sick kids? There seems to be a need for it. I can't find one in my state except one hospital that does it. I considered starting one.

I'm a school nurse and I have thought of doing the same thing! I've wondered about how to keep from spreading the germs around though. You might have a kid with a simple cold who gets exposed to the flu, or worse! You are right that there does seem to be a need for it, though. I'm interested to see the other responses.

When I researched it, there are no regulations for it. However, the hospital that does it groups kids in cubicles of respiratory and contact. They don't take kids with serious disease like chicken pox or measles. Kids that have green nasal drainage from colds, ear infections, head lice etc that the routine daycare won't accept. They have to have seen the doctor and have medication or treatment. There are little kids with asthma flare ups that need respiratory tx qid for a few days that some daycares are reluctant to take as well. There are companies online that give you suggestions as to how to set it up but for a fee. I figure I can't think it through. It shouldn't be too hard to sell.
