Independent RN contractor = self-employed??

Is an independent RN contractor also a private duty nurse?

I've cared for clients in their homes for the past 17 years.

Am I an independent nurse contractor? Am I self-employed? Or am I just a private duty nurse with a number of contracts?

Just curious, How are you paid? Through a company- then you're not self employeed. Private pay- then your are self employeed.
