Contract aesthetic nurses

I believe that in OK you can only inject if you are an RN; how would I find out for sure?

You should be able to call the Board of Nursing. In KS & MO you don't have to be an RN, but I have heard they are getting ready to change that

Just got back from Vegas this afternoon from an aesthetic meeting. It was awesome as usual. Most of the people who go are RNs or aestheticians that work for plastics. I learn so much & it is great talking to other people who do the same thing. Next year it is in Washington, DC. Any of you in the business it is a very worthwhile meeting.

As far as my 70 pts. it was all in the office except the Dr. had a Botox party at a boutique but we only saw about 16 people together. Next time I'm going for 4 days so they don't kill me

I am will be getting together with my accountant soon about all of this stuff. I think you should be able to write off mileage or car payment. I will see what he says.

I agree about the lasers. In the palce I used to work I made 25% on lasers, but I got kind of tired of doing them. I like doing the injectables too as it is much more satisfying! I also love being able to come & go as I please.

Alot of Drs. think that getting into this business is going to make them alot of $$$. It takes alot of $ to get started & getting patients can take alot of time. The better thing for them might be to start a side business but continue in their medical practice. If they decide to get into doing lasers the laser can cost $150K & up. That is some pretty big payments. I don't know where you are, but I would see what kind of competition you have where you are, & see how those places are doing. What kind of Drs are they? The injectables are costly up front & you want to make sure whoever is doing them are trained well.

Where I am there are some palces not doing well at all & it all is about how you market yourself & take care of your patients. In my meeting in Vegas almost everyone works for a plastics & they have seen a decrease in surgeries but injectables & aethetician services are doing well.

They might be able to pull patients from their existing practice but sometimes that doesn't work to well. I don't mean to be such Debbie Downer, but I would hate for them to lose alot of $$.

One question the physicians I have discussed doing contract work for concerns 'liability'. Does anyone know what their exact liability is or how to best answer this question without soundling like Im guessing or just don't know? I would really appreciate direction. Thanks

Depending on what kind of Drs. they are you should be covered under them. This is the bad part about being an IC. NSO won't cover you if aren't a W2 employee & doing aesthetics. I can have coverage in my office because I worked out with my Drs. to pay me a little each month so it will generate a W2 & I can have coverage. The other offices I go to I am covered under them.
