New to ER,..fiirst time TNCC

You guys probably get this question alot,.but couldn't find the answer in my search,...I'm taking the TNCC in two weeks ( a week before I start my new job in ER),.am looking for a web site for practice or even detailed info,.I remember the first time I took ACLS I found a website w/a mega code, practice questions etc,..is there a place like that for TNCC?? Thanks in advance for anny suggestions!!!

Everything in TNCC is straight from the book they give you...learning your A-I assessment is the biggest thing. Do you have the book for the course yet? Everything is in there.

I am a TNCC instructor. Like Nene stated it is all in the text book. The biggest piece is the A-I assessment tool. Be very familiar with it. If there is a question with abc's in the answer, that is usually the answer. Remember that abc's are a big priority. Relax and learn from it. The reality in the workday world is that it will all be going on simultaneously but in TNCC you have to spell it all out.

While not being directly related to "TNCC" there are some websites that you can gain some trauma knowledge with scenarios. Here's one I have in my bookmarks:

I would get the book as soon as you can and just do some practice questions and read some of the main points. When I took it they did skip the eye trauma section so I read that later. Great class you will enjoy it!

Ditto on all comments above. I remember when I took TNCC, I skipped a section in the back because it didn't seem important at the time and I was tired!

Turns out there was a question on the final test from that section and it was the only one I missed.

BE SURE TO READ THE WHOLE BOOK!

Okay,..went to Barnes & Noble to buy the book,..hope I didn't just make a mistake,..they didn't have any new books so ordered a used one,..then thought maybe there are different updates I should have looked for,..I know ACLS has changed several times since I first took it,..perhaps I should just get with the education dept at the hospital to ask these questions huh? thanks so much for the input everyone,.am actually looking forward to this,..ready for new experiences!!

As with the above post, read the book. It is important to know A-I. Get involved during the mock practices, it will help. Review the case senarios in the back of the book. Follow that process and you can not go wrong.

I would definitely get with your education department. There is an updated version of TNCC that is just coming out this year. Make sure you have the right edition for your class. Best wishes!

I am considering taking the TNCC in March and am curious about the skill stations the brochure indicated would be on the 2nd day. Can anyone help with what to expect? Is it like the megacode for ACLS?:smilecoffeeIlovecof

Took my TNCC yesterday, tested today. Skipping everything, passed check off and failed test. Spent my time studying for assessment station and not the test because everybody said just know your ABCs, its easy, etc. Like heck! And you can't just "read" your book... You have to know it, LOL.
