maybe I read this wrong..or took it the wrong way..?...I absolutely didnt have a problem w/ the joke..at all! I love the craziness of the ER..along w/ accuracy, of course. I agree w/ ANNE RNC, and quite a few of the others...to set the record straight..I'm still laughing. after review, it looked to me like only one member had a problem w/ it. --no, not losing sleep over it ;-> and I too, would like a nurse w/ a sense of humor rather than a straight n narrow deadpan. thanx..just my 2cents.

Guilty of the "drank apple juice from a urinal" guess you had to be there, but I promise it was funny at the time. The horrified looks were the best.

what happened to you? your feelings towards the er nurses and techs are quite negative. couching it in humor is troubling because this post has real teeth and fits in with all the countless er bashing posts.

wow. are you a nurse? a patient who didn't get the care they felt they deserved? both? i'm curious.

wow! i read your post hoping it was a joke, you know the weird, non pc humor that us er folks enjoy. you are really serious, you think that the op's list was accusatory? there are a million lists like that on the net, they are for different types of people, and in this example, things that an er nurse has either done, thought about, or thinks is funny. are you really a nurse? i can't imagine you being in the er, you seem to be quite unclear on the concept. i'm really hoping that you posted when you were really exhausted or drunk, or exhausted and drunk, and if so i excuse your bizarre thought process- if not, all i've got to say is- yikes!

I wondered since Blee got so bent out of shape because even I could tell it was a joke and I don't catch on to every joke like this and my hubbie and laughed until we both almost peed! And as I posted earlier in this thread, I would rather have a nurse taking care of me or my family that could at least smile and joke a little bit instead of one that you never see smile or laugh sometime during her shift. A little humor goes a long way with any job, especially in ours working in the ER. Just my opinion, but I can speak from experience as both a patient in the ER, and also as a family member when my father was in the ER having an MI. And when he was d/ced, the ones he was so proud of having as nurses and EMTs bringing him in were the ones who made him laugh and made his stay a little more pleasant. A little goes a long way in decreasing a patient's stress or anxiety!

 So true.

Also, you might be an ER nurse if you think every patient should be intubated, have a central line, and a foley.

wow...this op stated from the get go that she obtained these jokes from an er humor website. i suppose by responding as you did, you have shown possibly your inability to assess yourself. they are jokes, meant to be funny, and they are.
