A little update on the strike in DC, and the recent arrests!

Thanks for the info, MD_RN. This does not bode well to have a prolonged strike in DC like this. Many nursing contracts will be open for negociations this next year; and both unionized nurses and the hospitals they work at are watching this strike. Those that are crossing the picket lines are not only lining their own pockets with money; they are also making sure that nursing as a profession, will continue to be underpaid. They are making temporary high salaries to ensure that the usual nurse employees will not get adequate raises, and also that nurses will continue to leave the profession (or not go into it) because we are underpaid and not respected.
