I am searching for current abstracts for standing order protocools for medicating the febrile adult.Currently we medicate our pediatric population primarily w/tylenol for temps over 101.5 r but what is the standard for adults? What are you using?

I don't know of any "standard" per se. Most docs I work with have no problem with either 650 or 975mg for adults with temps >101

I don't know of a standard for adults either? We generally give 650mg or 975mg, po/pr. Of course the exceptions are a Hx of liver problems, jaundice and/or Hx of ETOH abuse. With those Tylenol is withheld until the labs come back.
