Emergency Nurses Week

Looking for ideas for Emergency Nurses Week. We always receive mugs, pens, etc. Looking for something new and exciting for the hardest working nurses in nursing. Any ideas. Will really appreciate this

Thanks one and all.

We got tote bags one year with the hosptial logo: not just the little canvas bag but with good strong straps and enough space to do some good. I still have mine 5 or 6 years later. Don't remember most of the other years!

How about 4 hours off paid?.....Means more than a tote bag, box lunch, some stupid mug or anything else.....I have always pushed for this....How nice it would be to have 4 hours cut short from a shift.....

Or 2 hours for lunch and a gift cert. for a store near her/him.....
A Gas card......... How about offering Massage Therapist student/group for 15 minute breaks for a whole (2) weekends....You can get Massage Therapy students who have to put so many hours in free of charge for their clinicals. (They could set up in an area within the ER not being used or off ER that is not open during the week.

I'll think of more...believe me.....lol

How about making a MINI ER/RN Protocols flip booklet with your hospitals Media Department, ................
having TNCC/ACLS/Pals/ Er meds/ Hosp. extensions ,spiral bound as a give-away. I did this as a project for EMS week one year as a give-away using EMS protocols quick check.....THEY LOVED IT...... it ended up costing about $7 per spiral bound flip booklet....It was pretty cool if I say so myself.

Great ideas above! I like the idea of the spiral MINI-ER/Protocols for the ER dept. coupled with a gift certificate to a nice restaurant for after shift snack or meal. I don't work in ER but sure appreciate your hard work.

2 years ago I got a bunch of the Informed ER/Critical Care Pocket Guides and we raffled off 20-30 of them. For each ER Doc that put 25$ in, another book was added to the pile. The profits went to our ENA chapter (about $100 dollars).

If anyone is interested in getting these, let me know, I can get a good deal from the publisher directly.
