gee, i dunno, after the patient has waited in the waiting room for 6 hours is their anything i can do or say to make their stay excellent? ya think? so maybe er's ought to look into increasing staff ratio's, and get bob the builder to add on instead of sending managers to $10,000 seminars to learn about patient satisfaction? again, . In research conducted by Mohr and reported in the Mohr and Mahon (1996) article, nurses reported feelings of pain, suffering, fear, grief, anxiety, rage, and powerlessness when they grasped that they were working in morally deviant organizational cultures. i will define morally deviant organizational cultures: working at unsafe patient to nurse ratios. it isn't about finding nurses, or paying nurses more.......it is about retention. they spend tons of money to train us...then burn us out. jerks just say the same thing over and over......"we just can't' but nurses can?

You say it so eloquently..........what you describe is a universal problem in nursing yet no one is putting a stop to it because our profession is predominantly women, and we all know women are notorious for taking crap for longer periods of time than men will. When will we toughen up and stop the abuse women? It carries over into our personal lives, then we take it to work with us, and the crap keeps on coming at us. When is "knee deep shick" knee deep enough for us to raise our voices in protest before all the world? Or maybe we like being martyrs? Ya think?
