Heck you ought to come to OB where the biggest spectator sport in medicine/nursing takes place? ever try to cram 12 family members/friends into an LDRP? about as much fun as it would be in an ER cubicle...........ugh.

Personally, if i were in the "birthing position", i would not want my whole family in there. I mean it's bad enough to have your knees in your face and wearing nothing from the waist down (i'm fairly sure that you reach a point where you just don't give a rat's rear lol), but this is not the moment i want the WHOLE family in there.

Well, you would be surprised then Marie with how many women don't care that everyone in their family is in the room for vag checks, caths, and delivery. One of the last deliveries I did had boyfriend, boyfriend's Uncle, mother, mother's friend, friend's daughter . . . .I asked if she wanted them to leave during vag checks . . "no, it's ok".

I'm with you . . .I don't want anyone there except dear hubby, the doc and a nurse.

I swear, its true. I have no idea where the money comes from since administration is always complaining about frivolous spending. We get budget cuts constantly and the fiscal report always has us in the red but our frequent flyers without cable at home will always have Jerry Springer in the ER. Real nice. Admin says that it is all about patient satisfaction and that pts will not complain as much if they have something to do. I don't get it either. There is one plus though. I have toned up my arms since every time the ER is empty we all watch the excercise channel and workout together after chowing down on some Ben and Jerry's (low fat-ha)Cherry Garcia.
