My handoff to the oncoming rn was "300 pounds, off meds, homicidal intent". The was more of course but that summed it up. Let's hear 'em.

This cheered me up. I needed it. Thanks.
Alot of times in neuro critical care I find myself saying to a nurse who had the patient before, "No change, just as crazy as ever. thank God I'm not back tonight."

I did some CNA work in an ED prior to starting nursing school, and came in on night shift one summer. The dayshift nurses looked like they were totally done in, and one caught me and one of the night shift nurses in the break room putting things in our lockers. The conversation went like this
Day shift Nurse: "Do you have rooms six through nine?"
Night shift Nurse: "Yes, why?"
Day Shift: "Well, let me give you report."
Night Shift: "Okay."
Day Shift: "Six is empty, seven is crazy, eight is going to be transferred ICU where he will probably get to meet Jesus, and nine is a lovely member of Snail's Angels who was struck by a car while drunk driving on his moped. You're going to have a great night, good luck."

DKA frequent flier "BSL was 99 [1782 mg/dl], so she still hasn't cracked the ton, but the pH was only 7.15 - usual 4 lines, probably home in two days."
