Best ER references

I don't really have any particular text I use as a reference per se. I think that is one of the great things about being an RN in an ER is the variety of patients and ailments you encounter. You must become a jack of all trades, master of all! Too many reference books to read.
Experience, common sense, sense of humor, and being a team player I think are the best things to being a great ER RN.
Follow any decent study guide for your CEN and that should be a good resource. Also, if you are working in an adult ICU, perhaps look to go to an adults only ER as going right to a peds ER can be a tad intimidating for many.
I think time management and priority setting are the two biggest obstacles for ICU nurses transitioning into the ED.

If you look on Amazon.com some people have made "lists" of books for things like this. There is one for Emegency Nursing as well.

Look for "Listamania" and then search for emergency nursing.
