Funny video.

We jacked one frequent flier up one time that came to us for chronic pancreatitis.
Always demanding. Always a pain in the @$$.
He would only take Demerol... "allergic" to everything else.

Anyway, I was working with a newly civilianized military doctor. When said frequent flier came in it was custom to print out recent visit history. 3 pages of vague complaints for pain. The complete "trifecta" of pain complaints, right? Abdominal Pain, Back Pain, Headache....lol.

I dare suggested that this person had a problem and might need an intervention. A simple urine drug screen later he was "hot" for everything but PCP. Coke, Meth, Opiates, Barbiturates, THC...

Doc goes nuts. Unaccustomed to the civilian "seekers" the doctor places him on a hold order (2013 in GA) for substance abuse. He's now on the fast-track for a mental health evaluation. Gets to stay in the "Grey-Room Hilton" for @ least 3-days for detox and gets to go to meetings.
No narcs, no smoke break, no autonomy! Man was he P!$$3D...

Sometimes the system works for them...
Sometimes it works for us.

Didn't see him again for almost a year later. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside just in remembering this story.
