Rush U. CON DNP Fall 2014

Wanted to start a thread for those of you deciding to go to Rush U. for the DNP. Seems like a small program, but I am excited to be attending FT for my FNP. Let me know where any of you stand, if any of you exist on this forum:

  • What will your concentration be?
  • Will you be FT or PT?
  • Will you be online or on-campus?

I will be an online student, but if I have trouble arranging clinicals as an out-of-state student, I will probably to take a year away from California to do clinicals in Chicago as Rush seems to have great ties in the Chicagoland area. I am so excited and hope to hear from any of you soon with the hopes of gaining enough support and getting a group going.

I was also accepted to the University of Washington and am attending there. I can tell you I was impressed with the curriculum at Rush.

Nice! I am very jealous! University of Washington is supposed to be a great school! Was Rush the real deal? As in a real university and seemed it would prepare you to effectively pass the examination?

I was accepted about a month ago. DNP Psych track. I currently live in MN and am thinking of relocating to Chicago.

I ended up accepting an offer from the University of Washington and moved to Seattle instead. As for advice, I'd focus on a good essay. You can PM me also. good luck.

Yes, Rush is the real deal. If you look at their curriculum compared to some other schools you will see what I mean. It is online which is not a good fit for me. They do, however, give you the option of taking the initial classes on campus.
