So, are there any programs that this adult NP can get a psych DNP?

I thought I remembered reading somewhere in a forum, that Robert Morris university has a program for that, but I'm not 100% on that.

A quick google search on post master's certificate pmhnp came up with literally dozens of programs, not sure which also offer a DNP.

I'm not sure there is proper communication. I am an ANP. I want to get a psych cert but also get a DNP while I am at it. Most programs do not allow this as far as I know.

Okay, I looked it up for sure- Robert Morris university in Pennsylvania has this program. You get psych cert and a DNP. BUT... It is not online at the present time, however , they are working on making an online format. it doesn't specify when that will occur. Hope this helps!

My university has both programs that take BSN prepared nurses and post master's certs in their fields, each of them allow the student to stop once they finish the "masters portion" or continue on to get their DNP. I don't know about other programs, I just assumed some others have this flexibility built into their programs, but that assumption may be wrong. I think in any case the capstone project and a few additional classes will be required over the classes needed for the additional certification.

On a similar note, you might contact Frontier, currently the website only shows their offerings in FNP, CNM, and WHNP, but I know they were considering expanding to include an offering in PMHNP. If they do, then I would expect it to be structured like their existing programs and have the same flexibility to continue and get your DNP.

I think (not positive)… New Mexico State University does. I went there for my BSN and loved it. Its affordable for students and all of my instructors were super helpful. I highly recommend the school and the only requirement for campus is once a year in August for a seminar. Everything else is online for grad school.

Unless I missed it, it looks like the above school only has a Phd program

The University of South Alabama allows you to add another specialty while obtaining your DNP, and it is an online program.

It's possible but I don't know of any that have a formal program as such. Schools that ofter a post-BSN DNP would be your best bet since your course of study would be similar (minus the core NP work

you've already done).

It would really be on an individual basis so I'd suggest contacting schools you're interested in and asking if they'd allow your to earn your post-masters PMHNP and DNP concurrently.

Best of luck!

There are multiple programs that permit an additional specialty to be added as a post-masters cert while obtaining the DNP. I don't know specifically which ones offer psych NP, you'd have to do some googling.
