where to test for cpne?

Which testing site is closer to your home? The southern region testing sites require a more extensive background check that costs more. The sites in NY typically have a quicker response time from application to test date. If you want to get a test date quickly people say to go for the NY area. Other than that or how close you live to a site, one site is considered to be just as good as another. That is because the variables, (attitude of test CA and CE), will change from test to test and can't be predicted or controlled. If you are adequately prepared you will pass no matter what site you test at. Good luck.

I have applied to Ga...I hear it is not that long of a wait and you can call for a cancelation appt and get in within the month. It does cost more for the background check, but it is closer. The only site I keep hearing not to go to is Grady in Atlanta. I have heard from multiple people that they are very rude and the pass rate is not great! (even my one of my advisors). I hear Gwinnett in Atlanta has a nice staff (a co-worker tested there after she failed at Grady). Well good luck! I too am concerned about the costly and pain in the butt background check. Do you choose the facility or just the spac ? I would prefer to go a little farther for a better experience. The situation is stressful enough.

You can pick and choose between sites in a given region. You can choose all sites, one site only, or any combination. Of course it stands to reason that if you put down all sites within a region, then you will get a test date sooner.

I somewhat agree with you about the travel thing, but someone once told me that if you know your stuff, you are going to pass no matter where you go. So I am going to stick with Ga. We will see, huh?!?!?!

Jet lag and functioning so you can PASS the CPNE

I live west coast and took the CPNE in Amarillo TX, I PASSED 11/09.
My good friend tested 2 week ends ago in Amarillo TX, she also PASSED.

I tested in New York state, failed in Syracuse in Feb 09, passed at St. Peter's Albany May 09. Syracuse requires you to go to one hospital on Saturday and a different hospital on Sunday, thus requiring extra orientation, and 2 days of feeling like a fish out of water. I did not care for the CA/CE's but a fellow tester thought they were great.
St. Peter's in Albany was terrific. Professional atmosphere and attitude from CA/CE'es very nice hospital, encouraging staff. Albany was a much nicer area too. Syracuse in February was dark cold and in places, downright scary. The hotel that we stayed at was not great either. If you fly up to New York, you can fly into NYC or Boston and rent a car for a 2 hr trip to Albany.

I live in Oregon and tested in Milwaukee, no problems. I chose MPAC seemed like they were getting quicker dates at the time, I didn't care where I tested. Melissa, RN
