Week end only excelsior

HI is there anyone out there that studied the weekends only, and passed EC test? if so how many weekends did you take to prepare for one test. The reason I ask is,because some schools have a bridge program of weekends only.

THANK YOU FOR ANY INPUT

Thats really a subjective answer. The tests cover a large amount of material.(A semester amount of info.) I took a test every 2-3 weeks. Some people take 2,3,6 months. I think the best way to learn the info is to go over it 30min-1hr each night or day. Make notes, flash cards and take them with you. Any free moment look over a few things. I would pull my info out at lunch time while I was eating. I would also Get out my notes 30 minutes before I went to sleep at night and read. Its just that simple. The key is determination.

You can study just on weekends but its really hard to devote just weekend studying because the information is so dry and boring. I didn't study for long periods of time because my mind would wander. Ask yourself, Do you really want to be curled up reading a nursing book allday on a beautiful Saturday afternoon? probably not. Thats the beauty of the program. Make it work around your schedule. Hope this helps and good luck to you in the future!

NC Girl RN hit it right on the head. The beauty of the program does lie in the fact that you can work nursing school around your life. It undoubtedly takes a great deal of determination and effort. I completed more than 50% of a traditional nursing program and then completed my degree at Excelsior. I made it work for me and now I'm a working nurse RN in my chosen area. You can do it too.
