University of Phoenix RN-BSN program-cost?

I found their website most uninformative. I requested info twice from them also, and was never contacted, which surprised me. I've since been accepted into another RN to BSN program and I start on Tuesday. Still, I'm curious to hear from anyone more familiar with their program.

The cost might be mentioned there. I think they are one of the more expensive RN to BSN online programs out there at about $400.00/hour.

I finished my UOP BSN last year and figure it cost me about 20,000., finished it in 2 years. I think the price has gone up since then.

I had a phone cosultation and was told it costs about $15,000. per year, full time.

I just graduated 3 weeks ago and for 16 classes- in less than 18 months costed me $21,000. The cost at that time was $430.00/credit. Now I beleive it is $515/undergrad credit. For each class that you take you also have a cost of $75.00 for library access with includes all of your books that you can get online.
I only had to purchase 3 books outside of this during this time frame. 2 of these books are required when you start online classes since you have to learn APA and have a gramar book which are helpfull with all of the paper writinig.

I'm considering enrolling in this program.... Honestly, do you recommend it? Is it doable working full-time (3 12's)???

I work 3 12's a week night shift. I think this was the best way for me to do my schooling. Classes move fast in the undergrad (BSN) classes they are 5 weeks long and an assignment is due weekly. It could be a personal paper or a team project. Primarily the assignments are due on Monday @ MN phoenix time- but of course it depends on the facilitator/instuctor.
Some times I took 2-3 weeks off between classes. But school is just a laptop away and can be done at anytime. I got used to it after 2 classes- so if you do persue it do not get frustrated. Coucelors are wonderful assisntance. I loved my experineces, even though some of my teams were laxed with their part, and highly recommend it. I did not have to drive anywhere, except for the clinical part which was not terrible at all. For family health, you have to have a family visit(home health type) who needs some assistance or teaching - I had a freind who had a motor vechilce accidnet and needed some assistance. For the community part, I did a teaching project for my daughters home ec class on handwashing during flu season.
For the leader and management clinical hours I followed my manager around and a vice prez of my institution to shadow them.
Nurses are great resourceful people who can help you get through the process. Classes vary 15-20 students and they are from all over the states and sometimes the globe.

I just finished speaking to an adviser/counselor a couple of hours ago-- as of 8-29-08, the cost per credit hour is still 430.00 plus the 75.00 materials access fee.

The big selling point for me is the way the UOP processes your student financial aid. They "bill" for all the classes that will be completed in a semester's time at once, meaning that even though you are only taking one class at a time, it is possible to get financial aid, because you aren't applying for only 3 or 4 credit hours, you are applying for a whole semester of full time classes (did that make sense the way I explained it?)

There is no way I can work full time and go to school full time to be able to qualify for financial aid. Conversely, I also can't afford to pay out of pocket to take only one class per semester -- Besides, at that rate, I'd be 90 before I finished my BSN!!!

So, today, I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with a student adviser filling out forms online and getting my information together. So far, so good. Will keep you posted.
