University of Oklahoma-Accelerated BSN Program

by nikki15

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?

I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nicole

Hello,

I live in San Diego as well and have applied for the Summer. I am anxiously awaiting my letter! No one has graduated from the SD program yet because the first class just started last August. There doesn't seem to be anyone on here from the program from SD, I have tried for a while to get responses from anyone, but I think they are too busy to even go on this site!

In response to the cost, I got an estimate of $32K for the entire program. It seems like a lot but I believe it is definitely worth it for a 2nd bachelor in 14 months!

Good luck to you both!!

Congrats! One step closer.
I have been pondering the easiest ways to get my nursing education. I realized there aren't any. lol At this point, Im thinking about getting my BS in Healthcare Admin. Continue working in the field and try to get in to a nursing program later. At least then I'd have my BS degree.

Keep us posted after orientation and best of luck to you

Hi Wannabe!

Any news on how the orientation went? I guess classes are starting soon. Let us know how it's going. I plan on applying at the end of summer once I get all my prereqs finished.

Hello!
It went really well, we heard from a panel of students currently in the program, that was nice. Classes officially start tomorrow however we were given our logins on friday and there is a ton of work to do already! Some due Tuesday. So, I must get back to the reading but best of luck to you! I hope you get in...so far I really like it!

Hey wannabe07,
I just had a few questions about the orientation for the ABSN program. I am planning to start the ABSN program in SD on Aug 25, 2008. I have been informed that our orientation will be on Aug 14. So here's my dilemma, I've booked an international flight (way back in Jan) to Germany that departs on Aug 13, so that means that I can't go to the orientation.

So I just want to know what I would be missing if I didn't go to the orientation. What do you do at orientation and how long does it last? Do you think it would be feasible if I had someone go for me and videotape it so I don't miss any important info? I'm trying to figure out what to do because changing my flight plans, that I made back in Jan, would be VERY expensive.

Please let me know when you get the chance, I'd really appreciate it!!
