I am an Assistant Director of Admission for a University. I have lots of experience as this is my specialty. I would tell you to make sure that the program is accredited both at the univeristy and program level. Look for regional or national accreditation at the college/university level and CCNE at the program level.
Make sure that the school you choose to attend has a long history in the BSN programs. Many school just started their programs and aren't very strong. You want a school with a strong history. Your best option is a school that has a ground campus that has a strong program and then an online program that mirrors the ground program. This will ensure that you have a real University to deal with and that the program has a proven track history.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't thought about the "diploma mill" aspect. I had thought about Excelsior in the past but one of my friends who came up from Virginia for the clinical, failed it. I was concerned about the amount of money it would cost if I failed it and had to retake it. I also knew someone else that passed it but they suggested a review course for it first. Do you or anyone know about review courses for the clinical portion?
