So far I've only been taking one course at a time towards my BSN, but I'm thinking that I need to double up on something in the next couple of sessions -- I want to finish before July 2010. I'm looking at doing a forensic nursing certificate through a local university (
http://chhs.gmu.edu/nursing/grad-cert-forensic), and they're taking applications now for a Fall 2010 cohort that starts the last week of August. At my current speed, I'll be finishing my BSN at that exact same time. The only problem is that for the forensic program, you either have to have a BSN, or be an RN with an ADN and a BS in another area, so I'd like to finish my BSN with a little bit of a cushion! I'm not even sure if they'll let me apply for that session without already having finished, but I'll call them to ask about that.
The point of my long-winded blah-blah is that I'm looking for recommendations on which two courses I should take together, bearing in mind that I work three 12's a week and am a volunteer paramedic another day each week, and I'm looking to not totally drown myself with school work. I'm in week two of Community Health Nursing, but I have the following classes remaining:
NR446 -- Collaborative Healthcare
NR448 -- Information Systems for Healthcare
NR449 -- Evidence-Based Practice
NR450 -- Capstone
For those of you who have taken any of those, any thoughts on which two would go together with the least amount of pain? I've heard that Collaborative Healthcare is a "lighter" course, assignment-wise. Any input is appreciated! Thanks.
