Oklahoma University San Diego

Hi Everyone,

Quick question, I am sure it has been talked about already here. I was just wondering if the Oklahoma University San Diego BSN program is closing down and it's last cohert will be Spring 2010. Is this true? If so, any reason why? I was just finishing up my last pre-req's for UO. I heard that SDSU will be taking over the program and future applicants. Any response would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is information in this thread:

The last few pages have discussed that issue, I believe.

Hi,

I went back a few pages and couldn't find the page that discussed OU closing down the S.D. location. Are they looking to accept only the spring 2010 and closing it's doors? Thnx in advance

Sharp is a world class organization. University of Oklahoma, based on my applicant experience to this school, is a joke. They dont even have a TEAS or NET requirement (even associate programs require a NET), and they take less than a third of their applicants....but in a bizarre twist its mostly due to Sharp and being in San Diego. They base the entire entrance process on completion of prereqs and GPA.....but dont seem to care where you went to college at all. They dont care about your interpersonal skills and dont interview you. The academic program itself and the school are not professional at all. All applicants to this school - consider your academic experience.....it matters. This is distance learning...in my opinion a risky way to get a nursing education. They didnt even know what CLEPs they could accept when I applied, and have a pretty inept staff. They "alternated" more than 50 applicants for the fall...then had an "alternate" open house. It was the most bizarre meeting I have ever been to. As soon as I was accepted to another accelerated program I left California and I am so happy with the decision, especially now seeing whats happening. I will come back with a great education and a BSN...without dealing with the OU mess. USD does have an entry level masters....its super selective. If SDSU takes over the ABSN....this is a great development for future applicants!!
