Lunah, RN

Hi Lunah,

A few students from my workshop last month were interested in taking Information Literacy through Penn Foster. Someone here posted a 800 number and for the life of me I can't find the thread. Is there anyway you can locate that number for me?? Thanks so much.

Google penn foster and call their main number and when they answer ask to speak with someone about the "course by course" classes. Make sure you talk to your advisor and get "permission" to take the class throught penn foster! It is way easy and took only an hour to pass it! Good luck! PM me if you need help!

Wow, that sounds really great. I was wondering if there was a better way of doing Info Lit. Thanks for the tips. Anymore info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This is the link that I finally tracked down from a while back...I got on the Penn Foster site, but it was a little more than I could tolerate tonight. I just sent my EC advisor an email requesting permission to take Info Lit at Penn and she sent one back pretty quick okaying it. I still have to call and set it up, but it sounds pretty simple. Good luck, all!

Just read the tread. Does anyone know about needing someone with a degree to proctor the final? Just trying to get my ducks in a row before I make the call.

From everything I've read, it's just a sit at the computer and figure out how to surf the web kind of "class". Most people I've heard from say it takes anywhere from a couple of hours to 5 or 6, but no one has ever mentioned having a proctor. I thought the whole thing was basically just making sure we know how to find and use our resources for the whole distance learning thing. They send a book after you register, but I've seen many people say they already have the work done before the book gets to them in the mail.

I have taken this class through penn foster and you just take two exams and email them when you are done. No proctor! It only takes a few hours. Very easy!!
