As far as i know there are NO LPN classes online (unless maybe pre-reqs?) since LPN is mostly a "hands on" class...there are ASN RN classes online, but you would need to have your LPN first. hope that helps!

ohi guess i didn't explain this all too well after re-reading my post...nursing consists of a lot of clinical or hands on experiance, i've never heard of any LPN school giving all of it online. The ASN degree, like excelsior, only accept students who have had clinical time, such as Medics, LPN's, respiratory therapist ect. does that make better sense?

Try www.deaconess.edu You still need to set up clinicals in your area and you have to travel to St. Louis once a semester for clinical validation.
There is also an online program for LPN in Minnesota. However, you have to travel there to do you clinicals x amount of times a semester. Not too bad if you live close to Minnesota. You would have to do a web search for that one. I can't remember it.

From what I've seen on this site I feel fortunate because my course was around $7000.00 . I've seen some people say close to 15,000.00 . I live in the state of Ohio. Not sure what state they were from.

It varies greatly, depending on where in the US you live, wether you are going through a college or technical school. I paid $10,000. My sister was looking into in Florida and found one for $4500.00 All depends.

so did anyone ever locate an online LPN???? i'm going absolutely wappy. where is one supposed to start? i live in fiji (UK citizen) and there is no chance of getting in to nursing school here without citizenship...my only option is to do an online course but therein lies my problem...can't become a RN without LPN or have i totally missed something? PLEASE, if anyone can point me in the right direction i'd be most grateful (revoking UK passport for Fijian is not an option)
many thanks in advance,

http://www.northlandcollege.edu/

click on "my nctc"
click on "distance education"

This is a tech college in Minnesota. I would recommend to call the Distance Minnesota toll free number that you'll get on your screen by following the above clicks. They are extremely nice and will fill you in on everything you need to know about the online LPN program. Clinicals DO have to be completed locally from what I understand. There are also a couple other site requirements to test out for nursing skills I and nursing skills II. You will have to attend orientation dates at the beginning of the program. Towards the end of your education, you'll have to go to the campus in East Grand Forks, MN one more time to test out for IV certification. Otherwise, all courses and testing are done via online. Tests are usually done with a proctor and at a local (in your own hometown)library or school...after your proctor has been approved.
It's a great program with a very high success rate on passing the boards. Good luck and hope this helps.
