She's actually explained herself on this matter (maybe it was earlier in this thread? Don't remember), and she said what you said, readytoroll -- that was exactly how she meant it. Given the spelling/grammar errors she makes in her notes (because they are NOTES, nothing more), it doesn't surprise me that she might write something that can be misconstrued.

It is post number 56 where she explains herself. I am an LPN and I am not offended by what she said. Truthfully, right now any notes I tried to write for an Excelsior course wouldn't be up to par. Now, when I graduate I might give her a run for her money...LOL (Just kidding Lisa, it seems like more hassle than it's worth but I appreciate it!)

Default Re: Lisa Arends Study Guides on Ebay
I purchased her notes to see what they were like but I dont like the comment on her ebay page saying other ebay sellers are "not nurses their LPN's" Last I checked LPN's are nurses and I feel that's disrespectful. Maybe she just stated it wrong.

Dear larends,

Hello Lisa I'd like to thank you for helping so many others with your study guides. I've just purchased Nursing Concepts 1 & 2 and look forward to it's arrival. My only concern is you refer to other sellers on Ebay not being nurses and their LPN's, but I thought LPN's were nurses too. Being that most of your customers are LPN's it just seems disrespectful. Maybe you stated what you were saying wrong, but others have been offended as well on Allnurses.com. I just wanted to let you know. You may not care as long as the money is good, but as an LPN I feel we are underestimated enough and even though we want to progress to RN we are still nurses and worked hard to earn our LPN titles. I look forward to the arrival of my study guides. Much luck with continued success.

This is Lisa Response:

Dear jhersee2009,

Thanks for writing. My statement was not toward LPNs I have the most respect for LPNs and many I have worked with are more knowledgable than the RNs I have worked with. I was an LPn for 12 years! My about me page is referring to two of my competitotrs that do not even work in the health care field.. one is a drum instructor ... and are utilizing bits and peices of yahoo group materila, free web info etc andselling it as professional material. I direct customers to check the credentials of their seller so they don't end up buying for those who have no interest or experience in the HC field.
My reference to LPNs has to do with Cerviall Hensley ( study group 101) claims that she completed the program in 4 months and works with a group osf other Excelsior graduates. Cervilla's lawyer has confirmed that she is not a graduate of EC or a Registered Nurse.( She is an artist /rock painter) I think that customers should know the truth about her credentials and false claims. Its difficult to compete with someone who simply copies any credetnials I have onto thier profile, so I added the links to check for grads and license status so customers could see for themselves.

I am sorry if it sounds offensive. I will look at my page and see if there is a different way of wording the information. Rest assured I have a lot of respect for all nurses from LPN to PHDs! ( nurses rock!) Thanks for your input! Lisa Arends, BSN, RN

I actually passed all of my exams with A's and B's using mainly Study Group 101 notes for studying. She may not be an LPN or RN, but those notes helped alot! LOL

The post you all see now on ebay has been changed and is not the original post Lisa changed it and reworded it better after several people felt that she did put LPN's down in her original Ebay advertising page. What you see now is a rewording again so that's why you all are saying she didn't say anything wrong said about LPN's.....It's not there anymore again it's been changed. For the record I have communicated with Lisa after I asked her about the original statement of what she meant. She responded, clarified it, changed it, and she is a great and smart nurse with a promising future. I haven't yet recieved my study guides I ordered from her, but regardless of whether I like them or not her personality, customer service, and open-mindedness to constructive critism is why she will be around alot longer then those other Ebay seller. No ones perfect we all make mistakes, but it how you correct them is what makes you noble.

Thanks Lisa !!!!
