I have seen Lisa's study guides and quite honestly they were horrible, they were the same things I received in class, and I have notified excelsior of possible copyright infringement! I would suggest that you not buy these courses unless you like being scammed!

After getting suckered into the so called study guides that Lisa Arends put out, I have contacted Excelsior College for copyright infringement. There is nothing useful in them, and they appear to be some of the course material itself! BUYER BEWARE!!!!

I have to say I am alittle of an old schooler LOL....Found my best way of studying is to use the EC studyguides and read, read, read...I use studygroup101 notes just for the purpose of having notes...the studyguides that are out there for sale arent always up to date...I also have Lisa's Arends which find them to be like reading a book. Not all notes are going to be the perfect guides for studying. Taking the practice exams after reading helps direct studying as well. Good luck with your decisions...

I found Lisa's notes to be a little more organized then SG101, unless I'm missing something.

I thought her CD was helpful. I like the practice tests that she had, because of the rationals. I'm not sure if it helped a lot on the real test but it was good practice.

Not trying to offend Lisa but, as an LPN I was offended by this. I did make it a point to say her notes are informative but supplements should be used. Thank you.
This statement was not made to offend anyone - Im talking about my competitors. There is no way an lpn could write study material as good as mine unless they are using my material. I'm tired of people stealing my ideas and trying to say they are better. My material is the only original on ebay - I've been selling it for over 5 years. I've gotten rid of all the other knockoffs so far and i will get rid of them to eventually too and anyone who comes after.

Default Lisa Arends Study Guides on Ebay
I purchased her notes to see what they were like but I dont like the comment on her ebay page saying other ebay sellers are "not nurses their LPN's" Last I checked LPN's are nurses and I feel that's disrespectful. Maybe she just stated it wrong. Being most her customers are LPNs we need the proper respect. I hear RNs say that sometimes it's amazing how soon after LPNs get their RN they forget LPNs are nurses too even though they were once one. I think that blow hurts worst. This is my email to her for anyone else who feels the same.

Dear larends,

Hello Lisa I'd like to thank you for helping so many others with your study guides. I've just purchased Nursing Concepts 1 & 2 and look forward to it's arrival. My only concern is you refer to other sellers on Ebay not being nurses and their LPN's, but I thought LPN's were nurses too. Being that most of your customers are LPN's it just seems disrespectful. Maybe you stated what you were saying wrong, but others have been offended as well on Allnurses.com. I just wanted to let you know. You may not care as long as the money is good, but as an LPN I feel we are underestimated enough and even though we want to progress to RN we are still nurses and worked hard to earn our LPN titles. I look forward to the arrival of my study guides. Much luck with continued success.

I don't see where her page says that at all. It says that her competitors are not RNs, they are LPNs -- I don't see where it says they are not nurses. Where are you reading this?

"Most of the my competitors are not even nurses, many are LPN's who have never attended Excelsior College. Unlike other sellers - who claim to be RN's and Excelsior Grads - you can verify my credentials. See my About Me page."

I don't think she is saying that LPN's aren't nurses. It may have been better worded as "Most of my competitors are not even nurses while others are LPN's who have never attended Excelsior...." That's the way I take it. I have her CD's and have only browsed through them. There are some grammatical errors, but these are the notes she took during school. Looking back at my notes from LPN school (I am an excellent not taker FYI ) they are filled with grammar and spelling errors too, because I wrote them in a hurry!

Her prices are reasonable and there is a ton of info in them. Just look past the grammar/spelling errors and you have a great tool to enhance your studying. That's my two cents!
